A docu-series following the lives of animal rescuers
Mission
The goal for RESCUERS is to give support and recognition to animal rescues. So many of them receive little to no support for the essential work they do, mostly voluntarily. Humans impact animals directly in the thousands every single day, and rescuers are needed to care for them. Our hope is that from highlighting a few rescues in our episodes, we can inspire many people to give support to their local rescue.
The Plan
We are planning on 8 full episodes, each following a different animal rescue. The first two are finished, and covered incredible stories. There are so many inspiring stories to share, and many cannot fit into the 8 episodes, so on social media we are putting out mini episodes and rescue highlight posts to give recognition to as many rescuers as we can. This work is all being done voluntarily by our team and the content is all free, which is why donations to our series help immensely to give rescues support.
How it got started
Josh Carter filmed the first episode, The Kitty CrusAIDe, while earning his bachelor's degree at UVU. Afterwards he learned about the insane story of the WRCNU getting kicked out of their building, and upon realizing the need rescues have to get more support, he decided to make it a series. With the help of producer Taylor, they made the plan and filmed the second episode. This series is unlike any other. The direct impact for good that this series can have on communities all throughout the world and on the attitude people have towards animals is unimaginable.

Hey I'm Josh! I have always had a passion for wildlife, but my journey in conservation started in 2020 after listening to the All Creatures Podcast and learning about all the struggles animals go through. I switched my career path from animation to pursue wildlife filmmaking. Deciding to make RESCUERS felt like the perfect step for me following my bachelor's degree. I feel that I can do so much good through RESCUERS, more than anything else I can think of. I hope you enjoy the series and take action after watching! Hi, I’m Taylor! I’ve always been drawn to filmmaking as a way to connect with people and tell meaningful stories. When I met Josh in our first class in film school, I was immediately inspired by his passion for wildlife conservation. Seeing the success and impact of Kitty CrusAIDe, and Josh’s drive to spread awareness made me want to be part of it. He pushed me to think more deeply about the kind of impact I want my work to have. Being part of this project has opened my eyes to the resilience of both animals and the people fighting for them. I’m proud to help bring RESCUERS to life.
